As a business owner it’s important to first and foremost build a strong foundation as a reputable, professional business that cares about their clients. An integral part of long-term success is creating a business model that focuses around your clients and building a strong relationship with them so they will come back year after year.

If I go to a website and look for an “About Me” page and can’t find one, or I can’t find one with a photograph, I feel like it’s probably a scam and I click elsewhere in my search. Part of this is because I watched far too many con-artist shows and movies as a child, but part of it is that we are naturally wired to connect to someone by seeing their face. If we can’t see a face we can’t make that connection as a person and in turn as a prospective client.

Adding a professional headshot to your website, email signature, or LinkedIn profile is the first set towards connecting and fostering a long-term relationship with your client. When people call you on the phone or meet with you after having been on your website they will enter that conversation with the feeling that they already know you because of the connection they have made through your professional headshot.
