In our last conversation, we talked about making a First Impression but the first question you need to ask yourself is: “What kind of impression do I want to make?”

As a business owner, or the member of a business, you want to communicate success, efficiency, and trustworthiness. In short, you want the client to see you as professional and capable. You know what you’re doing and you’re good at it.

I was on a website not long ago were half of the headshots were obviously outdated and the other half were selfies that looked like someone had just stepped outside and snapped a quick picture. I found myself instantly not wanting to do business with these people because if they didn’t care how they presented themselves how could I be sure that they would care about my needs as a client?

A strong, professional headshot will allow your client to connect with you on a personal level, help them to recognize you in the future either at events or when they begin working with you, and lend credibility to your business profile.

Because no filter in the world can make a selfie taken in your backyard make you look professional.
